NEW: SDK Downloads and Installations

We’ve added two new charts to the 42matters Software Development Kit (SDK) Explorer. The first tracks New Installations and Removals, the second tracks Downloads.

Over the last few months, we’ve made a number of improvements to our product suite. We’ve added insight into Apple Privacy features like App Privacy Details and App Tracking Transparency, made a host of iOS-related product upgrades, added app-ads.txt for LG and Samsung Connected TV (CTV) Apps, and made Postman integration easy for all API request examples listed in our documentation.

But perhaps our proudest achievement has been the 42matters SDK Explorer, which we launched back in February. Indeed, the SDK Explorer enables users to browse the SDK landscape, gaining insight into SDK developers, app category market share, and a variety of other relevant metrics.

So, today, we’re thrilled to introduce the addition of two new features to the SDK Explorer:

  1. New Installations and Removals History
  2. Downloads

New Installations and Removals History

As the name suggests, this new feature enables you to track the number of installs and removals for any SDK during a given month, as well as the monthly installs. You’ll also be able to see the total number of new installations and recent removals over the last 6 months.

Check it out:

To find this information on the SDK Explorer, here’s what you’ll need to do:

  1. Click either Android Apps or iOS Apps in the Explorer section of the Launchpad. This will open the 42matters Explorer.
  2. From there, click the SDK button on the left hand Toolbar to open the SDK Explorer.
  3. Click on any SDK of interest to view SDK Insights.
  4. Click or Scroll to the section titled New Installations and Removals History.

And that’s that — easy peasy. Of course, if you don’t have access to the SDK Explorer, you’ll have to take a different route. You’ll also be able to find much of this information on our Public SDK Pages (although without numbers):

Downloads

This one is also pretty self-explanatory. With this chart, you’ll be able to see the sum of daily downloads for all apps that have integrated a particular SDK. So, if an SDK is installed on 500 apps, and those 500 apps combine for 20,000 downloads, that will be the number reflected. Like so:

As you can see, this feature will also tell you how many total downloads a particular SDK has received over a 6 month period.

To find this information on the SDK Explorer:

  1. Launch the SDK Explorer.
  2. Click on any SDK of interest to view SDK Insights.
  3. Click or Scroll to the section titled Downloads

Once again, if you don’t have access to the SDK Explorer, you’ll be able to find much of this information on our Public SDK Pages:
