New: iOS-Related Product Upgrades
We’ve added a whole bunch of new iOS-related product upgrades. These include access to country-specific app rating counts, privacy policy URLs, data privacy labels, high-resolution screenshot URLs, similar apps, and iOS app subtitles.
Since the beginning of 2021, we’ve been hard at work improving our various products and solutions. Just last week, for instance, we announced that our app-ads.txt file dump now includes intelligence on LG and Samsung connected TV (CTV) apps. And, a couple of days earlier, our development team launched easy Postman integration for all API request examples listed in our documentation.
Well today, we keep the momentum going. In this article, we’ll cover six new upgrades to our products and solutions, including:
- Number of App Ratings for iOS Apps
- Privacy Policy URLs for iOS Apps
- Data Privacy Labels for iOS Apps
- High-Resolution Screenshot URLs for iOS Apps
- Similar Apps for iOS Apps
- iOS App Subtitles
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Number of App Ratings for iOS Apps
42matters now enables you to determine the total number of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5-star ratings received by any iOS app available on the Apple App Store. Moreover, this data is country-specific, meaning you can refine your queries according to localization. These new fields are part of the iOS App Object and can be used in all APIs that leverage the iOS App Object.
Privacy Policy URLs for iOS Apps
This one is pretty straightforward. You can now use any iOS API that leverages the iOS App Object to access privacy policy URLs for apps available on the Apple App Store.
Data Privacy Labels for iOS Apps
Privacy is a persistent concern in the world of mobile apps and games. For this reason, the Apple App Store now helps consumers better understand an app’s privacy practices. On each app product page, users can learn about some of the data types the app may collect, and whether that data is linked to them or used to track them.
With 42matters, you’ll now have insight into these data privacy labels via our App Details File Dump for iOS Apps.
High-Resolution Screenshot URLs for iOS Apps
You’ll also be able to use our App Details File Dump for iOS Apps to access URLs with high-resolution screenshots of apps on different Apple devices, such as iPads, iPhones (6+), etc.
For example, here are sample URLs for the Weather Channel app:

Similar Apps for iOS Apps
Next up, you’ll now be able to use the Explorer, iOS App Details File Dump, or any iOS App Object-enabled API to pull a list of similar apps. For example, here’s a list from the Explorer depicting apps similar to the iOS version of Instagram:
Note: The equivalent field for the APIs and File Dumps is called “customersAlsoBoughtApps”.
iOS App Subtitles
Finally, iOS App Subtitles are available via each iOS API that returns the iOS App Object. So, you’ll now have access to app subtitles for all iOS apps available on the Apple App Store.
